Hello Student Organizations, From general meetings, on campus events, and representation of UNLV at state and national conferences, CSUN recognizes the hard work of student organizations and the contributions they do in making a Rebel’s college experience involving and exciting. On this page, you will find important information and online forms that will supply different opportunities to organizations. Please note that ONLY CSUN recognized organizations will be able to take advantage of these benefits and services. Some of the benefits of being recognized include: • $1500 funding for meetings, travel, or events.
• $500 funding for events when one or more organizations collaborate.
• Become Student Organization of the Month and win a $100 Visa gift card sponsored by US Bank.
• Co-partner on one of many CSUN-sponsored events.
• Use our Marketing Designer to create marketing materials, like posters, banners, logos, t-shirt designs, etc.
Here are the steps to becoming CSUN recognized: 1. Complete the requirements from the Office of Civic Engagement & Diversity, which can be found here. 2. Complete the online Recognition Request form that can be found below. It is recommended that the President of the organization fills out the request. 3. Submit a paper or electronic version of your student organization’s CURRENT constitution. 4. IF your organization will be applying for funding, you must also fill out and submit:
• Vendor Application
• W-9 form with your organization’s information and EIN (Employee Identification Number)
If you do not already have an EIN, please complete the W-9 form and call 1-800-829-4933 to obtain one. Inform them that you are a student organization at a university. The Vendor Application and W-9 form can be found below or paper versions can be picked up at the CSUN offices located in the Student Union, room 316. Please submit these in person to the CSUN Receptionist or my office. These forms will stay on file for the 2010-2011 academic year. It is not required, but it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that the student organization have a bank account as well. * Once you're CSUN recognized, you do NOT have to re-submit any documents when re-applying for funding.
